I often finish painting projects as trilogies.

Tree TT1, TT2 and TT3. Instead of roots, each tree stands above another tree, its mirrored variation. Turn the painting over and you get a second image.

A golden tree with spiralling branches against a blue sky, above blue angular roots in sandy ground.

A black angular tree on a gold ground, above golden spiralling roots on red.
2 / 3Tree TT2Acrylic on panel, 70 × 100 cm
A crown of green curling leaves above a grey field, with fractured green and white geometric roots below and a vertical band of other patterns down the middle.
3 / 3Tree TT3Acrylic on panel, 70 × 100 cm

Being a pharmacist by training, I began approaching painting from a pharmaceutical perspective.

I build each painting systematically, with geometry, numerology and the golden ratio, and I often mix the colours on the painting itself. Perhaps that is why I am called an Alchemist.
